The third semester focuses on developing both a professional and efficient workflow and a deeper understanding of modern color management and prepress. On completion of the course students should be able to create complex page layouts, uniform grid systems and elaborate compositings and tackle advanced prepress challenges.
Learning Objectives
- Advanced concepts of color management and prepress: ICC profiles and color spaces, gamut mapping, spot colors, overprint and knockout etc.
- Advanced techniques in global and local image editing with Adobe Photoshop: creative compositing, complex masks, layer and channel techniques, spot colors, professional color management, soft proofing etc.
- Development of an optimized workflow in Adobe InDesign: professional application of the fundamental tools, advanced automation, uniform grid systems, advanced prefilght checks etc.
